Description

Digital Impact North (DIN) is a Digital Innovation Hub in north Sweden, focused on Smart Sustainable Societies, characterized by the diversity and challenges specific to societies in sparsely populated areas. DIN builds on the region’s long collaboration culture spanning all kinds of sectors and industries, based on strong research in IT, AI and digitalization, competitive industry ecosystems, world-leading industries in manufacturing, green industrial megaprojects and industrial frontiers in disruptive technologies and green conversion. As a European Digital Innovation Hub, DIN will provide key services to SMEs and public sector organisation (PSO) within four specific target areas, helping them become more mature and successful in their digital and green transformations. These areas correspond to key challenges to their clients, and thus also to the digitalisation demands of these stakeholders, but also to specific challenges to our region. The areas targeted within DIN are areas where digitalization contributes to: · More resourceful utilizing of natural resources · Reduced climate footprints from manufacturing · Improved health and wellbeing · Viable societies and sustainable lifestyles DIN consists of a well-balanced consortium with high competence both in key technology areas and in delivering expected services towards each target area. The consortium has also built significant trust and confidence among the region’s stakeholders which guarantees high impact in achieving the objectives in Digital Europe Programme. DIN will work towards a cohesive region where digital and green transformation together with social inclusion plays an important role. These three pillars are embedded components in every activity and service performed by DIN. Further, we will develop models, methods, and tools, adopted to sparsely populated areas, with support from regional collaborative networks and ecosystems together with other EDIHs in Europe.
