Description
Our Services & Your Benefits
AI is not only changing the way we work, it is also changing how cybercriminals attack. The following provides a brief overview of what this means in concrete terms:
Deceptively real phishing emails
Attackers use AI to write emails that are error-free, personalised, and convincing. The old warning signs, such as poor grammar or strange wording, are disappearing. In case of doubt: do not click, but contact the sender directly.
Faked voices and faces (deepfakes)
With AI, voices and videos of real people can be imitated. A phone call from the “boss” urgently requesting a payment could be a deepfake. Rule: if requests are unusual, hang up and call back via a known number.
Attackers who already know you
Before a fraudulent email arrives, AI has often already analysed your LinkedIn profile, public posts, and company data. The message then sounds familiar and personal, even though it comes from strangers. Familiarity is not proof of trustworthiness.
More and better malware
AI helps attackers develop malware more quickly. This means more attacks, broader target groups, and higher quality. Do not open unknown attachments and do not install software from untrusted sources.
The key message in one sentence: AI makes attacks more convincing, faster, and more personal; common sense and a quick verification are often the best protection.
Target Audience & Prerequisites
This insight is intended for:
– Companies, public institutions, and organisations that want or need to protect themselves against cyberattacks
– Decision-makers in IT, digitalisation, sustainability, data protection, or management
– Data protection officers
No in-depth security expertise is required. A basic understanding of digital applications and the risks associated with attacks is sufficient. This insight is deliberately designed to bring together technical, legal, and strategic perspectives – in an accessible but not oversimplified way.
