In recent years, there has been a trend in the healthcare sector towards the increasing use of software solutions supported by artificial intelligence. These range from billing and accounting to patient care. While these approaches offer great potential to relieve the burden on staff and ensure better healthcare for patients, they also harbor risks. Incorrect suggestions, cognitive bias, lack of transparency, misplaced trust - this session will provide an overview of relevant influencing factors whose effects can threaten patient safety and care. In addition, legal and ethical issues as well as practical approaches to prevent such effects will be highlighted.
This insight will be presented by Lennart Janzen, who is a medical doctor specializing in gastroenterology and has been working in the healthtech industry for 6 years. He is passionate about digitalization and the digital transformation of healthcare, especially with a focus on sustainable and responsible AI. With his medical expertise, he works on solutions to improve patient care and efficiency in the healthcare sector.
