On Thursday 11th of December 2025, the Digital Transformation Accelerator (DTA) II hosted the Webinar for EDIHs: Discover the AI Act Service Desk. This session is one of many webinars organized going forward as part of the second phase of the DTA. It follows the Introductory Webinar for EDIHs in November, which officially marked the beginning of this new phase.
The webinar presented two new provisions designed to support navigation of the AI Act: the AI Act Service Desk and the AI Act Antenna Support Mechanism. First, the AI Act Service Desk was introduced through a presentation delivered by officers of the European Commission (AI Office). Second, a presentation outlined the role of the AI Act Antenna Support Mechanism, which will be operated by the DTA. The Antenna will act as a curator and amplifier of AI Act-related questions and knowledge across the EDIH Network.
Key information and webinar highlights:
-
Presenters explained how the Service Desk works and provided a live demonstration of the online portal. (The link to the Single Information Platform is found here.)
-
The session clarified how the Antenna complements the Service Desk. It will act as a central coordination point for EDIHs, offering:
-
Bi-directional and systematic curation of AI Act compliance issues encountered by EDIHs in daily operations
-
Amplification and dissemination of AI Act guidance and information
-
AI Act-related training for EDIHs
-
Support in connecting EDIHs with the broader AI innovation ecosystem, aligned with the Apply AI Strategy and the AI Continent Plan
-
-
The DTA will implement a protocol for ongoing collaboration with EDIHs, including proactive requests for input and regular information sharing
Following the presentations, the webinar moved into an interactive question-and-answer and active listening segment. Participants were invited to raise questions freely before being guided through targeted discussions on (i) expected support from the AI Act Service Desk and AI Act Antenna, (ii) anticipated interactions between EDIHs and the AI Act Service Desk and AI Act Antenna and (iii) levels of AI Act maturity across the EDIH Network. These discussions were supported by interactive polls, multiple-choice questions, ranking exercises, and word clouds.
The webinar materials, together with a summary of the main discussions, are available below:
