Call for papers - harnessing artificial intelligence and digital technologies for inclusive and resilient vocational education and training (VET)

Cedefop is pleased to announce a call for papers for a special Working Paper series exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced digital technologies are being used in vocational education and training (VET) to promote inclusion, resilience, and sustainable transitions in the context of Industry 5.0.

Cedefop’s VET4Youth – Teachers and Trainers team has launched a Call for Papers on the theme: “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies for Inclusive and Resilient Vocational Education and Training (VET).”

The initiative aims to address research gaps on how AI and digital technologies can advance equity, support vulnerable learners, and strengthen the teaching workforce in VET systems across EU Member States, Iceland, and Norway.

Thematic priorities include:

  • Digital and AI literacy as foundational skills for VET learners
  • Learner-centred pedagogies and adaptive learning using AI
  • AI applications to prevent early leaving from VET
  • Digital technologies supporting NEET outreach and transitions
  • Teachers’ and trainers’ digital competence and wellbeing

Selected contributions will be published in the Cedefop Working Paper series and on Zenodo. Authors will also be invited to present their work at a high-level European event in June 2027.
