An award decided by the Network, for the Network.
The EDIH Community Award is unlike any other prize at the EDIH Network Summit: the winner is decided by the EDIH Network itself, through a live vote of Summit participants on 9 June 2026 in Brussels. Five projects have made it to the final, each selected for its innovation, measurable impact, and potential to inspire others across the network.
Empowering energy consumers through IoT and blockchain Spain | DIH4CAT
Energy systems are becoming more complex, but consumer control has not kept pace. DIH4CAT supported the development of an IoT and blockchain-based solution that gives energy consumers real visibility over their own data, enabling them to monitor, manage, and share energy information in a more decentralised and transparent model. A project that puts people, not just technology, at the centre of the energy transition.

Innovative digital solutions for sustainable farming Italy | CHEDIH
Micro and small agricultural enterprises are often the last to benefit from digital tools, yet they have the most to gain. CHEDIH worked directly with small farms to introduce data-driven technologies that improve sustainability, optimise resource use, and support better day-to-day decision-making. A reminder that digital transformation is most powerful when it reaches those who need it most.

AI-based robot Robic helps in social services Czechia and Spain | EDIH NEB and EDIH Madrid Region
What does responsible AI look like in practice? EDIH NEB and EDIH Madrid Region offer one answer. Working across borders, they piloted Robic, an AI-based social robot, in care facilities supporting people with cognitive and mental disabilities. The project enhanced engagement and daily support for both residents and care staff, demonstrating that human-centred AI is not an abstract principle but a practical possibility.

Hyperspectral imaging to detect foreign bodies in meat products Spain | IRIS
Conventional food inspection has limits. IRIS pushed past them by deploying hyperspectral imaging technology on the meat-processing production line, detecting gristle and foreign bodies that the human eye, and standard equipment, simply cannot catch. The result is safer food and higher production standards, achieved through a technology with clear potential for wider adoption across the food sector.

Towards simplified regulatory compliance for innovators Finland | HHFIN
For many innovators and small enterprises, EU regulatory requirements, including those around AI, are a source of confusion and delay rather than guidance. HHFIN developed a digital tool that changes that, helping users understand which regulations apply to them from the earliest stages of their work. Less friction, faster decisions, and more space for the innovation that Europe needs.
