TechCircle - the EDIH in Central Denmark

TechCircle supports SMEs and tech entrepreneurs in the Central Denmark Region succeed with twin transition (digital and green transition). We bridge the gap for companies with big potential but limited in-house resources. More information can be found at: www.techcircle.dk and our EU website.  

 

Core expertise

TechCircle is one of Denmark’s five European Digital Innovation Hubs. Based in Central Denmark, we support companies nationwide and, where possible, across the EU. Our mission is to strengthen advanced digital capabilities and technologies while supporting sustainable development and broad digital transformation.

TechCircle brings together five partners from Denmark’s business and innovation ecosystem.

Through TechCircle, SMEs gain access to the expertise, development facilities, and test environments of Aarhus University and VIA University College. The partnership also includes MADE, Denmark’s manufacturing cluster, and Central Denmark EU Office, which provides specialist knowledge of European funding opportunities. Business Hub Central Denmark coordinates the hub and works closely with local business hubs across the region.

Our core strengths include AI, data-driven sustainability, IoT, and cybersecurity, with a practical focus on helping companies use digital technologies to improve performance.

 

Service offerings.

TechCircle offers a broad range of services, both individual and group-based, at introductory and advanced levels. All services are free for SME’s and the focus is to accelerate twin transition, empowering SMEs to adopt sustainable practices and implement wide-ranging digital solutions.

  • Events and courses: We help upskill and reskill the workforce for future demands through webinars and interactive seminars that build practical digital and green skills.   • Get access to a wide range of Test and lab facilities:The partner circle behind TechCircle has opened its testing and laboratory facilities to companies that, e.g. want to test a product or solution of. Small and medium-sized companies can gain access to test their technology or latest products either in laboratories or at the company (on-site testing and developing). Read more at Techcircle.dk
  • Strengthen the SME with the Business Innovation Mentoring: With Business Innovation Mentoring a SME can get 1:1 mentoring with a specialist, tailored entirely to the company’s needs. At the end the company will receive a brief inspiration report featuring ideas and development perspectives, rather than ready-made solutions. Read more at Techcircle.dk
  • Joining an Innovation Group:  Innovation Groups are collaborative, structured networks designed to bring businesses, researchers, and industry experts together. They serve as a shared space where companies can openly discuss challenges, exchange knowledge, and co-develop new solutions that would be too costly or complex to tackle alone. They are structured as a series of individuals and collective activities and are aimed at companies that want to develop their business in the form of better products, processes, or services. Read more at Techcircle.dk
  • In depth specialist courses: TechCircle offers specialist courses where companies and public organizations can add specific digital knowledge to their organization through courses for their employees. The courses are tailored within various subjects, e.g. data management, digitization for circular economy or utilization of technology for business development. This happens through a series of lectures, where employees acquire new knowledge and tools that enable them to exploit digital opportunities in their organization.
  • Hackathons: TechCircle runs hackathons with students on higher education in Central Jutland. During a hackathon, the students will be presented with a real-life problem for which they must work intensively to find solutions. The participants contribute with analyses, point to possible solutions, develop prototypes etc. Both companies, public organizations and educational institutions can benefit from cooperation on hackathons. The goal is to develop courses that speak to the teaching and at the same time bring realistic challenges into play.
  • Get advice on funding and how to attract new capital: TechCircle offers 1:1 advisory session for companies looking to attract new capital and explore hard or soft funding opportunities.   • Financing Days: Several times a year, across the largest cities in Central Jutland, TechCircle brings together investors, public funds, and private foundations with companies seeking capital or development funding. Read more at Techcircle.dk
  • Get a digital maturity assessment: TechCircle offers to do a free digital maturity assessment, so the company becomes more aware of where they stand digitally. The result can be used to identify new digital business opportunities and find out how the company's digitization level compares to competitors.

Business Hub Central Denmark

A publicly funded, impartial advisory organization dedicated to helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs achieve sustainable growth. Owned by the region's 19 municipalities, it provides free business development, specialist sparring, and direct guidance in areas like digitalization, green transition, internationalization, and securing capital.

Aarhus University

A top-tier, research-intensive university and one of Denmark's major educational pillars. It provides deep academic research, technical expertise, and top-level talent across diverse faculties (including Science, Technology, and Business), acting as a vital knowledge provider and innovation partner for regional and European projects.

VIA University College

One of Denmark’s largest university colleges, deeply integrated into the regional labor market. VIA focuses on applied sciences and professional bachelor programs (spanning engineering, business, healthcare, and education). It plays a crucial role in workforce skill development, lifelong learning, and practice-oriented innovation for both public and private sectors.

MADE - Manufacturing Academy of Denmark

The national cluster and innovation platform for the advanced manufacturing industry. Operating as a European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH), MADE bridges the gap between production companies, universities, and research institutes. It helps manufacturing SMEs implement state-of-the-art technologies (such as robotics, automation, and digital twins) to optimize efficiency and sustainability.

CDEU - Central Denmark EU Office

The region's bridge to Brussels, representing the 19 municipalities, the regional government, Aarhus University, and VIA University College. Headquartered in Brussels, CDEU helps regional actors secure EU funding, build international partnerships, and navigate European policies (such as the green and digital twin transition).
