To support the role of EDIHs as connectors in the expanding AI Innovation Ecosystem, a training programme has been designed to provide insight into the growing number of AI infrastructure initiatives and how EDIHs can connect them with SME and public sector stakeholders.
eLearning Course
This eLearning course aims to equip EDIHs with fundamental insights into the EU AI policy and its instruments. The knowledge gained through this course should help EDIHs to fulfil their crucial role as AI centres of expertise and first-line AI helpdesk, including on the AI Act.
The course is divided in two sessions:
1) Session 1 introduces the architecture of the EU AI Act, including its key objectives, risk-based approach and provisions;
2) Session 2 provides an overview of the AI Innovation Ecosystem that supports responsible and sustainable AI development and deployment in the EU.

AI ACTor Badge Award System
EDIHs are key ACTORS in the AI innovation ecosystem, connecting stakeholders and providing AI Act implementation support, especially for smaller companies.
The AI ACTor Badge System aims to recognise an EDIH’s awareness and knowledge of the AI Innovation Ecosystem, its enabling initiatives and the cooperation opportunities and benefits that are available.
To be eligible, your EDIH should nominate a representative, such as your EDIH Coordinator or lead trainer, to attend each course, complete the assessment form and provide a commitment to share the course content and learnings with all members of your EDIH.
An AI ACTor Badge will be awarded to an EDIH once their nominated representative has completed the eLearning course and a minimum of 2 AI Innovation Ecosystem webinar-based training courses, and has passed the assessment on each course page. The badge will be added to your EDIH Catalogue page.
