The applications of AI in mobility are numerous, and go hand in hand with the digital transformation of the industrial sector: logistics, sourcing, maintenance, production, quality control, etc. AI can also accelerate the development of new materials or types of combustion that are more efficient and less polluting. Its applications from the point of view of mobility services mainly concern:

• Autonomous and/or connected vehicles, development of new mobility services, use of mobility data, smart city, safety, smart manufacturing and digital twin, etc.

High performance computing is essential for processing large volumes of data such as aerodynamics simulations, crash tests, autonomous driving (modelling of test environments, sensor fusion, etc.), combustion modelling and multiphysics computation in general.

Finally, with the increased use of digital technologies within the industry and the vehicles, cybersecurity is becoming a very important issue. It is a matter of protecting factories against data theft, the blocking or destruction of machines, as well as vehicles and user data against theft, but above all guaranteeing the inviolability of controls and critical functions. The increased interaction between vehicles and their environment, and their overall level of connectivity lead to increased cybersecurity risks.
