AI5production

The European Digital Innovation Hub for the Digital Transformation of Manufacturing Companies

What is AI5production?

AI5production is one of Austria's four EDIHs (European Digital Innovation Hubs) within the pan-European EDIH network. It provides comprehensive digitalization services to Austrian manufacturing companies with up to 3000 employees, free of charge.

Led by the Vienna University of Technology's pilot factory, AI5production comprises 16 partner institutions based in Vienna and Upper Austria, covering a wide range of expertise. The hub involves prominent universities such as TU Vienna, the University of Vienna, and JKU, along with AIT, Profactoras, several competence centers, and industrial partners. It grants Austrian companies free access to research infrastructure and expertise, facilitating their digital transformation. Additionally, the hub provides assistance in securing financing for digitization investments.

AI5production focuses on four main areas:

  1. Digital Design
  2. Digital Manufacturing
  3. Cybersecurity
  4. AI for Industry 5.0

AI5production supports companies in their digitization projects and consolidates their Industry 4.0 maturity. A contemporary, innovative, and successful company is no longer solely driven by efficiency and productivity at any cost. Instead, a holistic view forms the basis of strategic corporate decisions. AI5production provides a total of 26 laboratory infrastructures with scientific support, covering a wide range of areas such as digital production, hybrid manufacturing technologies, Human centered AI Lab, Cybersecurity Lab, Cognitive Factory Lab, and Human User meets ICT Technologies. Sustainability and ecodesign are key considerations.

Companies can collaborate with scientists on individual research and development issues. The hub offers research infrastructure for conducting experiments, measurements, tests, as well as designing new products and processes. Additionally, a comprehensive training program including courses, webinars, and workshops related to digitalization in production and Industry 5.0 is available.

Moreover, AI5production serves as a gateway to European infrastructure and expertise. The EDIH eliminates barriers, allowing Austrian companies to easily access European knowledge and resources for their digitization initiatives.
