ARTES 5.0 Consortium
ARTES 5.0 is structured as a hub & spokes model that brings together 17 Partners, 2 Affiliated Entities, and 3 Associated Partners with complementary competences, representing different stakeholders and covering the digital transformation needs of SMEs, small mid-caps and Public Administrations on the whole Italian territory, down to the local level.
Geographical and targeted users' coverage is granted by two characteristics of the ARTES 5.0 consortium: partners operate throughout Italy down to the local level, and partners represent the interest of SMEs, craft enterprises, and cooperatives, and already support them locally with innovation services.
ARTES 5.0 is coordinated by ARTES 4.0 (Advanced Robotics and enabling digital TEchnologies and Systems 4.0), an Italian Competence Center funded by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) under the Enterprise 4.0 National Plan. ARTES 4.0 has the fundamental requirements to guide the 5.0 proposal and the whole network has solid roots, with proven experience in the proposal sector, significant background of partnerships, and in particular a strong track record of international collaborations, especially at the European level, with coordination roles both in integrated Large Scale projects and in Coordinated Actions and Network, as well as advising roles for policy makers.
Technology enabler partners of ARTES 5.0:
- ARTES 4.0 Advanced Robotics and enabling digital technologies & Systems 4.0, the coordinator of the ARTES5.0 proposal, is the national Competence Center focused on Advanced Robotics. It provides awareness, training and demonstration activities for spreading Industry 4.0 technologies. It has provided 3.5 M€ cascade funding for 26 innovation projects in the areas of Industry 4.0, selected among 330 proposals coming from SMEs and mid-caps nationwide. It relies on the experience and facilities of 127 members, including 13 Universities (coordinated by Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies) and highly qualified Research Institutions (e.g., CNR, IIT), and 97 companies (including large companies like Comau, STMicroelectronics, Hitachi Rail).
- MedITech is the Mediterranean Competence Center for Innovation targeting the use of Industry 4.0 Enabling Technologies towards the diffusion of innovation practices in the production of goods and services in particular within the Mediterranean basin, relying on the collaboration of 5 Universities of the Campania region, 3 Universities of the Puglia region and 22 cutting-edge industrial players.
- START 4.0 is the national Competence Center led by the National Research Council (CNR) focused on the development of Industry 4.0 and digital security in five application domains: energy, transport, water systems, production and port. It provides experimentation facilities, training and financial support for developing industrial research and innovation projects through cascade funding to SMEs and mid-caps in the field of Industry 4.0 topics.
- CINI is the National Interuniversity Consortium for Informatics. It brings together 5 research centres focused on AI with connections in the European and International Societies in AI. CINI owns technological platforms and expertise that are made available for technology transfer, from awareness raising to testing before investing. CINI will co-operate with its Affiliated Entity Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia (Unimore).
- PSTSicilia is the EDIH for the Sicily region focused on Artificial Intelligence, shortlisted in the national phase of selection of EDIH candidates and merged with ARTES 5.0. It brings together the main actors of the innovation ecosystem in the Sicily region: 85 public and private entities that have signed an agreement (plus 25 expressions of interest). The aggregation of ARTES 5.0 and PSTSicilia strengthens the presence of ARTES 5.0 in Sicily and its orientation to the Mediterranean area.
- ISPRA the Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research developing and providing environmental monitoring and protection services to Public Administrations and private bodies.
Networking and business enabler partners of ARTES 5.0 (including national DIHs)
- I-RIM, the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines brings together over 200 innovation and research actors for fostering the development and adoption of Robotics and Intelligent Machines. Through its associates, academicians covering the whole Italian territory, I-RIM carries out activities and organises periodic events supporting knowledge and the adoption of AI technologies.
- three regional Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) of Confindustria: CICERO DIH Lazio, DIH Toscana and DIH Umbria. Confindustria is the main association representing manufacturing and service companies in Italy. These DIHs operate at a regional level in Lazio, Tuscany, and Umbria, supporting industries in their digitalization and acting as contact points with European initiatives such as the Enterprise Europe Network.
ARTES 5.0 partners with a consolidated experience and expertise in sustainability, human and cultural values, social cohesion, and regeneration economy:
- Symbola Foundation promotes the Italian Qualities and Green Economy with the goal to strengthen competitivity. In this domain it produces publications, projects and stakeholder and policymaker events.
- Intesa Sanpaolo is one of the leading banking groups in Europe with intense in-house R&I on digitalisation, AI, blockchain and cybersecurity. It has a strong expertise in providing services of financial advisory, IP consultancy, Access to capital/market and strategy development. Intesa Sanpaolo (ISP) will co-operate with its Affiliated Entity Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center (ISP-IC), which is the company of ISP Group dedicated to innovation. ISP-IC is specialized in match-making services for innovative companies and investors.
- Intellera relies on the expertise of more than 700 professionals, offering organizational, management and technological consulting services to 300 Italian and European Institutions and Public Administrations. The target groups of its consultancy services are National, Regional, and Local Public Administrations, Public Economic Entities and PA affiliated entities (e.g., in the field of utilities) and Health sector public organisations.
- CNA is a Trade Union representing Italian SMEs operating in manufacturing, construction, services, transport, commerce and tourism, with a focus to the craft sector. CNA heads a network of 60 Digital Innovation Hubs located in 13 Italian regions that helps SMEs innovation and growth with services related to digital awareness and assessment, networking and technology brokerage, access to financial resources and management training.
- DINTEC is a consortium for digital innovation providing technological innovation services, product qualification and the application of technical regulations to micro- and SMEs that operate in the most typical Made in Italy sectors (agri-food and handicrafts). Its services are mainly directed to the members of the Chambers of Commerce System and include awareness raising on digital and green transition 4.0 and related subsidy measures.
- EDI.it is the digital innovation hub of Confcommercio, an association representing hundreds of thousands Italian SMES operating in the trade, tourism and service sectors. EDI.it works as an ecosystem that facilitates the creation of dialogue spaces between large companies, startups and SMEs, the public and private finance system, the university and research system.
- Fondazione PICO helps cooperative enterprises to sustainably and responsibly grow leveraging digital innovation. It already provides services of digital assessment and implementation, it monitors funding sources available for innovation and organizes webinars, events and tailored training in the framework of an academy.
