Let's join forces!
“easyHPC” is among the seven European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) that represent Greece in the newly established pan-European network. They will play a central role in the Digital Europe Program, focused on bringing digital technologies to businesses, citizens and public administration. EDIH's main scope is to stimulate the broad uptake of Artificial Intelligence, High Performance Computing (HPC), Cybersecurity as well as other advanced digital technologies by industry and help them become more competitive with regard to their business/production processes, products or services.
“easyHPC” in particular, aims to create an open access and viral ecosystem around the plastics and packaging industry, and assist companies in their digital transformation. The fundamental principle is to apply supercomputing (HPC) based strategies for Industry 4.0, combined with infrastructure adjustment, high scientific and technological training, advanced knowledge, and pioneering simulation algorithms developed by leading Greek Research Laboratories in the field of Multiprocessing and Process Simulation at the Molecular, Mesoscopic, and Macroscopic level. “easyHPC” will provide stimulus and impulses for co-development rather than just offering a list of tools that may be used as a ‘black box’ in manufacturing. This in turn, will promote scientific knowledge and innovation, improve industry competitiveness, resilience, and green footprint.
"easyHPC" has access to the National HPC Infrastructure (ARIS) administered by the GRNET (National Infrastructures for Research and Technology. ARIS/GRNET will support "easyHPC" regional supercomputing ecosystem, to spread the use of HPC technologies and assist industry digital and green transformation according to the project plan. It will allocate computing resources based on its standard procedures for private companies. ARIS/GRNET and DAMAS collaborate at the LEONARDO pre-exascale supercomputer scheme, a powerful combination for "easyHPC" strategy and vision.
"easyHPC" will use the capacities and partnerships built in the EDIH network, to engage on other DEP work programme actions. It is strategically placed to exploit the potential of European common data spaces and cloud computing in manufacturing. It will promote the adoption of trustful AI/ML based engineering technologies with testing and experimentation facilities. The pilot-platform for product design and process innovation "easyHPC" will provide to the plastics industry, is in this direction.
To accomplish its ambitions, "easyHPC” has partnered with the Association of Greek Manufacturers of Packaging and Materials (AGMPM) that represents a large number of manufacturers in the whole spectrum of plastics materials value chain, with a vast number of products and applications used in our day‑life. In addition, it is supported by leading European Competence Centers in research and technology ("Plastics Innovation Competence Center" at Fribourg, Switzerland, and the "IKV-Institute for Plastics Processing" at Aachen, Germany), as well as other industry related organizations such as the ‘Plastics Recyclers Europe’, the ‘Association of Greek Soft Drinks Industries’, or the ‘Federation of Hellenic Food Industries’. “easyHPC” has already established links with other four leading EDIHs in similar and complementary fields of expertise.
At "easyHPC" we are open to any collaboration that will bring added value to our partners and SMEs, share our common vision and interests, as well as increase knowledge and perspectives.

Following ‘BoWi HEATMAP' methodology, "easyHPC" has already initiated innovation ‘corridors’ with other EDIHs, based on complementary technologies and common visionary strategies. We aspire to synchronize interregional collaboration for the benefit of our SMEs and midcaps. It is expected that between 5% and 20% of "easyHPC" community might seek assistance abroad on technology, business, finance or skills subjects.
