Context :
The Grand Est region has made Industry 5.0 one of its three driving forces for change. It has set up a new support program based on 4 key stages:
- Raising the company's awareness of the real stakes and challenges in its field, to initiate a decision-making process
- 360° diagnosis of the company's situation and maturity with regard to the drivers of change (digital, environmental, industry of the future). Economic development agencies are responsible for providing guidance following this diagnosis.
- Transformation modules to define a roadmap and draw up a preliminary project prior to integrating technologies and solutions
- Support in implementing the action plan (investments, integration of new skills)
In this sense, the region Grand Est has activated several instruments to encourage companies to adopt a transformation of their operating and production modes, in particular companies are encouraged to use certain technologies (Cloud, AI, etc.) and to protect themselves against cyber risks.
In addition to the Transformation paths (parcours de transformation), the Grand Est Region has launched the creation of Resource and Expertise Centers for the Digital, Industrial and Environmental dimensions: GET Grand Est Transformation.
On a European scale, the development of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) across the continent reflects the European Commission's commitment to this issue. Building synergies between all these schemes supported by the European Commission, the State and local authorities, and private players represents a major challenge if we are to ensure their efficiency and enjoy all their benefits.

From these two parallel initiatives has emerged EDIH Grand Est to establish a seamless collaboration to innovate in a target of 300 SMB Industrial SMEs using to AI and Cybersecurity.
Although EDIH was intended to be a one-stop-shop for IA & Cyber, its collaboration with the Parcours de Transformation and GET (Grand Est Transformation) will enable it to be easily integrated into regional policy; co-financing is a strong sign of this.
EDIH GE includes partners with strong networking capacities; innovation networking and ecosystem activities will be based on regional partners existing activities and services, among which Entreprise Europe Network (EEN).
