Description

High performance computing (HPC) is one of the key issues in the Digital Europe Programme. The project will establish and implement a new HPC focused EDIH in Hungary in order to support SMEs, universities and public bodies to improve their activity, production, RDI processes with the use of the HPC technology. The HPC EDIH will provide them specific, free-of-charge technical consultancy, mentoring, training, test before invest services and testing facilities. The consortium has appropriate partner database, infrastructural background and HPC capacity for the supporting of EDIH activities. The main pillars of the EDIH are:

- awareness rising (communication) activities and disseminations

- offering HPC-as-a-Service for SMEs and other organizations

- providing training, mentoring and consultancy for the partners.

The project consortium consists of three members: Governmental Agency for IT Development (KIFÜ) is the project leader, it is the Nr1 governmental organization in Hungary regarding HPC issues with strong infrastructural, professional and legal background. The state-owned Bay Zoltán Nonprofit Ltd. (BZN) and Institute for KTI Hungarian Institute for Transport Sciences and Logistics Non Profit Limited Liability Company are functioning as beneficiaries, they also have got a lot of experiences, well qualified experts, and existing cooperations in the fields of enterprise development, digitalization, research and innovation, technology transfers and transport. The main segmented target groups of the HPC EDIH are: - SMEs in the following sectors: medical research, agriculture, manufacturing industry, ICT, logistics and transport;

- universities;

- public bodies.

The goals of the HPC EDIH are in line with the EU and Hungarian strategies, policies, the project activities and planned KPIs are synchronized with these goals. The project is ready for launching, it has 5 work packages. The operation of HPC EDIH will have many positive impacts on the Hungarian (and EU) economy and society, synergies will open up in several themes.
