Healthtech Innovation Insight: TI Messenger - game changer for digital communication

Good healthcare requires efficient communication. The TI Messenger offers service providers the opportunity to exchange information in individual and group chats

Central function mailboxes allow referring physicians or patients to contact each other on a case-by-case basis. These new possibilities for asynchronous communication in the German healthcare system are good, but also time-consuming. Communication takes time - whether in person, on the phone or via messenger. Chatbots can simplify communication via the TI messenger. The possible applications go beyond the classic "ChatGPT" experience and specifically relieve everyday care processes:

  • Automated responses to frequent questions from patients (e.g. about appointments)

  • Structured completion of digital medical history or information forms

  • Reminders for check-ups

Timo Frank works as a product manager for the TI Messenger at gematik GmbH. He previously worked as Senior Market Access Manager at Ada Health GmbH. He completed his studies in health economics at the University of Bayreuth (M.Sc.) and the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden (B.Sc.) as well as a semester abroad at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is the founder and former chairman of the Hashtag Gesundheit e.V. association and is committed to strengthening the patient perspective in the digitalization of healthcare.
