h4i

hub4industry (h4i), established in 2019, operates in the Małopolska Region in Kraków, Poland. It focuses on supporting the digitalisation of manufacturing SMEs.

The hub is coordinated by the Kraków Technology Park (KPT), one of Poland’s most developed and well-regarded business support organisations. With an incubator, accelerator, seed funds, management of a special economic zone, and strong project management experience, KPT is well positioned to lead the hub. Together with nine partners (and two affiliated partners) representing a broad range of technology and knowledge areas, h4i is committed to building a not-for-profit European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH). Its mission is to close the gap in SMEs’ knowledge and practical experience in digitalisation, while also supporting the local implementation of Green Deal objectives.

h4i aims to provide a broad, holistic service portfolio and become the “go-to” address for SMEs starting or accelerating both digital and sustainable transformation. Its technical scope aligns with Digital Europe Programme (DEP) priorities—AI, cybersecurity, and digital skills—and extends to additive manufacturing, smart robotisation, IoT, and 5G connectivity.

The offer comprises over 60 services, including Skills and Training, Test Before Invest, and support in access to funding. These services are reinforced by communication, dissemination, community-building, and networking activities.

Extensive market research was conducted with the regional government to ensure the project responds to the real needs and challenges of local SMEs. Most h4i services can be delivered remotely, and the budget accounts for additional costs related to interregional cooperation. h4i has already advanced cooperation efforts by connecting with more than 30 EDIH-s.
