The EDIH network welcomes new European digital innovation hubs from associated countries

Following a successful call for proposals, we are pleased to announce that the European digital innovation hubs (EDIHs) network is growing! As of 1 January 2025, 18 new EDIHs from Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Türkiye and Ukraine have joined our network. This marks a major milestone in strengthening digital transformation in the EU’s enlargement region, helping local businesses, start-ups and public institutions access advanced technology, AI expertise and funding.

A stronger network for digital transformation

The newly selected EDIHs will enhance our network’s reach, offering specialised digitalisation services in key sectors such as AI, smart manufacturing, agritech and cybersecurity. Their expertise will help drive innovation and economic growth across Europe and its partner countries, reinforcing the EU’s vision for digitally connected and competitive economies.

By providing access to training, test-before-invest services and funding opportunities, these hubs will support businesses and public administrations in their digital transformation journeys. The initiative also aligns with the EU’s growth plan, which aims to facilitate a closer integration of the Western Balkans into the EU’s digital single market and ensure early benefits ahead of accession.

Seal of Excellence awarded to top EDIH proposals

Alongside these new hubs, 16 EDIHs from associated countries have been awarded the Seal of Excellence in recognition of their high-quality proposals and potential to contribute to Europe’s digital future. This distinction highlights their commitment to supporting SMEs and public entities with innovative solutions.

The integration of these EDIHs strengthens our network’s ability to deliver impactful digitalisation services, from AI-driven automation to cybersecurity improvements and digital skills development. As a result, businesses and public institutions across Europe and its partner countries will benefit from cutting-edge digital services and expertise.
