New survey to gather practices for the AI literacy living repository

Share your example of AI literacy practice with the AI Office

We are excited to introduce the development of a new survey on AI literacy practices designed to help organisations reflect on the use of AI technologies. Addressed specifically to SMEs and PSOs this survey will collect and share a range of AI literacy practices.

With the entry into application of article 4 of the AI Act, the AI Office started a living repository of AI literacy practices.

The repository was presented at the AI Pact webinar on AI literacy that took place in February and currently contains more than 20 practices gathered from AI Pact organisations.

To ensure a wider representation of AI literacy initiatives, the AI Office has now launched a new survey open to all organisations that would like to share their experience on AI literacy, especially in the context of article 4 of the AI Act.

We kindly ask EDIHs for their assistance disseminating the survey among their end users and stakeholders (SME and PSO customers). Your support helping us share this message will be essential to collect and share a range of AI literacy practices that will help organisations and individuals enhance their understanding and effective use of AI technologies.

Share the survey with organisations and individuals benefitting from your EDIH's services, and encourage their participation. Their insights are invaluable!

On a regular basis, the AI Office will verify that all contributions received meet the minimum criteria of transparency and reliability before accepting them into the public repository, whose aim is to encourage learning and exchange among providers and deployers of AI systems (Replicating the practices collected in the living repository does not automatically grant presumption of compliance with Article 4 of the AI Act. By publishing the practices, the Commission does not imply either endorsement or evaluation in any way). During the verification period, the survey might be closed.

The living repository is part of a broader effort of the EU AI Office to support the implementation of Article 4 of the AI Act and, more generally, the promotion of AI literacy and skills for AI. For this purpose, a dedicated website will soon be developed.

Disclaimer

The living repository of AI literacy practices collected via a survey was shared, for time being, only with AI Pact pledgers. The list of practices reported is therefore non-exhaustive and will be updated regularly.

The aim of this repository is exclusively to provide examples of ongoing AI literacy practices to encourage learning and exchange among providers and deployers of AI systems on AI literacy in light of Article 4 of the AI Act. The practices so far published were selected accordingly and divided alphabetically based on their different level of implementation (fully implemented, partially rolled-out, planned).

Please note that implementing the initiatives included in this repository does NOT automatically grant presumption of compliance with Article 4 of the AI Act. Moreover, please consider also that AI Pact pledges are non-legally binding voluntary declarations of engagement.

This living repository is part of a broader effort of the EU AI Office to support the implementation of Article 4 of the AI Act. Please see the AI Pact Events webpage for more information on upcoming webinars.
