Description
The Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC) aims to accelerate the formation of European sovereign data spaces, key elements in the digital transformation in all areas that ensure that more data becomes available for use in the economy and society, while keeping the companies and individuals who generate the data in control, and respecting EU values.
Funded by the European Commission as part of the Digital Europe Program, DSSC, aimed both at the public sector and businesses interested in creating sovereign data spaces, explores the needs, common requirements and best practices of existing data space initiatives, and provides guidelines and support to accelerate the creation of new data spaces that allow data to be shared between companies, public administration and civil society, while respecting principles of data sovereignty, interoperability and trust.
Please find here a list of useful documents:
DSSC Starter kit (reference document): The Starter kit is a document that helps organizations and individuals understand the requirements for creating a data space. It provides a multifaceted view of data spaces, highlighting business, legal and governance, operational, functional, and technical aspects to consider
DSSC Blueprint (guidelines): The Blueprint is a consistent and comprehensive set of guidelines to support the development cycle of data spaces. In the blueprint, you can find the conceptual model of data space, data space building blocks, and the recommended selection of standards, specifications and reference implementations identified in the data spaces standards and technologies landscape.
DSSC Glossary (reference document): is a curated set of terms ('names' of the entities) and definitions ('criteria' enabling to check if something qualifies as an instance of the term). The current version of the glossary can be found at Data Spaces Glossary.
The DSSC can offer a collection of assets found under the DSSC knowledge base.
The DSSC collaboration with EDIHs:
-
EDIHs acting as multipliers of the work done by DSSC (assets, blueprint);
-
EDIHs better supporting their communities in deploying and joining data spaces;
-
EDIHs contributing with testing and experimentation for data spaces; (when having the supporting infrastructure)
- EDIHs offering inputs and feedback to DSSC from regional/local communities or SMEs
