Description

EDIH L - M.I.A. Lombardia

The mission of EDIH Lombardia (EDIH L) is to lead and implement the digital and sustainable twin transition of Lombardy’s manufacturing industry through a comprehensive portfolio of services provided by its partners. Recognized as a EDIH and awarded the "Seal of Excellence", EDIH Lombardia plays a key role in driving digital and sustainable transformation in Lombardy, one of Europe’s most productive regions.

Recently renamed as Manufacturing Innovation Alliance (M.I.A.) Lombardia, the organization is a consortium of 12 partners dedicated to supporting manufacturing companies in their digitalization efforts, in alignment with European and national industrial policies. The consortium includes 1 Competence Center, 1 Digital Innovation Hub (both listed in the JRC catalogue), 4 Technology Clusters, 3 Business Associations, 1 Financial Institution, 2 EIT Nodes.

M.I.A. Lombardia aims to support digitalization and sustainability in the manufacturing sector, with a particular focus on SMEs. It offers a broad range of tailored services, including consultancy, training, and access to funding, helping companies adopt innovative technologies, enhance competitiveness, and drive sustainable transformation.

Specific Objectives

  • Supporting digital and sustainable transformation:
M.I.A. Lombardia guides manufacturing companies through their digitalization journey, promoting the adoption of advanced technologies to improve efficiency and sustainability. This includes Industry 4.0 solutions and greener, more digitalized processes.

  • Providing personalized services:
The hub offers tailored services such as technical consultancy, training, and audits, adapting to each company's specific needs. This approach enables businesses to tackle digitalization challenges with the right tools and scalable solutions based on their digital maturity level.

  • Leveraging NRRP funds and state incentives:
Through PNRR financing and various incentives, M.I.A. Lombardia provides companies with financial resources to support the adoption of innovative technologies. These funds are allocated based on company size, with some incentives covering up to 100% of costs for micro and small enterprises.

  • Promoting advanced technological skills:
M.I.A. Lombardia organizes awareness-raising and training initiatives to help companies understand and implement new technologies. By offering testing programs and prototype development, businesses can evaluate technological solutions before large-scale investments, reducing risks and accelerating digital transformation.

As part of M.I.A. Lombardia, MADE coordinates the “EDIH Manufacturing Network – EDIH4MANU”, an open, informal collaboration network of 25 EDIH candidates from 15 EU countries. This network aims to connect Europe’s most advanced manufacturing regions, share specializations, best practices, competencies, and services, and promote the digital transition of European industry.
